AIR MONITORING

Station 1 Safety and Rescue's Confined Space Air Monitoring equipment, the Altair iO4 Air Monitor bumped and calibrated and ready for use in a Confined Space.

For those unique circumstances when you need to determine chemical exposure, air monitoring services can assist in detecting many common and exotic gases to determine if exposure levels are in compliance with Ontario Regulation 833 - Control of Exposure to Biological or Chemical Agents.

By accurately detecting gases that may be present during operations, we can determine if employees are being exposed to unhealthy concentrations of chemicals as part of their work tasks, supporting employers to determine where efforts need to be focused to implement health and safety controls. Our team also conducts monitoring to identify potential leaks from equipment, piping, or processes—issues that, if left undetected, could compromise safety or disrupt operations.

By sampling air at multiple levels and locations, we capture a complete picture of atmospheric conditions, recognizing that different gases may rise, settle, or accumulate in specific areas. This is most important in situation like Confined Space Entries where stratified sampling is key and can prevent an incident from taking place due to pre-entry detection.
